About

Welcome to Sunset Lodge, a rustic cabin with breathtaking city views nestled on top of the pine mountains of Running Springs. This cozy space is a very close drive to Lake Arrowhead, Big Bear, hiking trails, and camping spots, Sunset Lodge is ideally located for all your summer & winter adventures. Cozy up by the one-of-a-kind 360 degree fireplace in the winter or gather by the refreshing waterfall feature in the front courtyard in the summer. Perfect for large families, with plenty of beds.

Good to know

When you walk in, you are immediately greeted by the massive, 360 degree fireplace surrounded by large A-Frame windows with stunning sunset and city views. The chalet style, 20-foot vaulted wood ceilings make you feel like you are in a castle, and the soft, newly-installed carpet comforts your feet after you take off your shoes. <B>🍿 Entertainment 🍿</b> The open-concept entertainment area is divided into two wings. As you move to the right, you enter the tv area, featuring a spacious u-shaped stretch couch and oversized ottomans that you can attach to the foot of the couch to make it the perfect place for movie nights. Also at your disposal is the karaoke lover’s dream: a giant PA speaker with 2 microphones. And for the kids, there is also a large assortment of board games located under the tv in the entertainment center. <B>🍴Dining 🍴 </b> To the left of the fireplace, and at the focal point of the lodge’s entertainment area, sits a custom-built, extra long dining table that extends to comfortably seat 12 people. <B>🍷 The Bar 🍷 </b> After you enjoy a meal in the dining area, you can move over to the craftsman oak wet bar. The bar comes stocked with a drink maker which can double as a milkshake maker, and margarita and wine glasses are provided as a courtesy. <B>☀️Deck w/ STUNNING views ☀️ </b> As you step outside of the lodge’s entertainment area, you enter a massive, 500 square foot deck with scenic mountain AND city views. The only other way to get views like this is by hopping on a helicopter. Not only do you have the jaw-dropping views, but this deck was made to entertain. There is ample and varied seating, with 1 couple’s swing bench, 3 sets of outdoor couple’s tables, and a larger patio table for 6. *I must note that the main road (technically highway) is about 200 feet in front and below of the back deck, so there is the occasional car passing by. <B>🛏️ Accommodation 🛏️</b> The Sunset Lodge has more than enough room to entertain 4 families. Boasting 4 bedrooms, an attached bonus room and 3.5 bathrooms, this 2,700 square feet cabin will not disappoint. Sleeping arrangements include 2 California King beds, 2 Queen beds, 4 twin xl bunk beds, 2 futons, 1 day bed w/ a pull out bed underneath. Additional folding beds and inflatable mattresses are available upon request. It is important to note that the two upstairs bedrooms are secluded through stairs, but don't have a door to close them off from the rest of the house. Also, the bonus room is attached to one of the upstairs bedrooms (though it does have a door for privacy). <B> ⭐️ Courtyard w/ Hot Tub ⭐️</b> Enjoy the newly renovated front courtyard which comes with a premium HotSpring Limelight Hot Tub. The serene waterfall feature and beautiful string lights add to the ambiance, especially around dusk. The Hot Tub hours are generally from 8am-10pm due to quiet hours. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns regarding this. House rules

Parties are not allowed: No undisclosed guests. Disclose guest count with host beforehand to resolve any concerns regarding your intended use and guest count. A $100* violation fee will be charged for each undisclosed guest per day, regardless of duration of presence on property. San Bernardino County Noise Restrictions: As a short term rental in San Bernardino County, we are obligated to follow the county noise restrictions and ordinances and subject to consequences if those rules are violated. We do live in a quiet mountain community with full-time neighbors on both sides of the property that are mindful of excessive noise. The rule of thumb is to behave in a way that does not disturb the neighbors. For example, conversation outside that is somewhat loud during the day may be fine, but within quiet hours may wake the neighbors and would be considered a violation of quiet hours. As the person responsible for maintaining a code-compliant listing, I have to take particular care of enforcing the following county rules for all guests. Per San Bernardino County guidance, the use of amplified music (speakers) is not permitted outdoors at any time. If any music is playing inside, the county recommendation is for guests to close any open windows and doors so that the noise does not escape outside. Also, per county regulations, quiet hours are between 10pm and 8am. During these hours, there must be minimal noise outside so as not to wake any neighbors. The official requirement from San Bernardino County is 55 dBA Leq from 7 am to 10 pm and 45 dBA Leq from 10 pm to 7 am. For reference, 55 dBA is about the level of conversation in a restaurant or office or an air conditioning unit at 100 feet. 45 dBA is about the level of bird calls or a library. This is not necessarily the limit of noise inside the house, rather a measurable limit on the basis of which I may argue against accusations of excessive noise. On my end, as your host, I have ordered (and will update this description when they arrive and are installed) Minut noise monitoring devices for the property in order to have evidence against false accusations of excessive noise. These noise monitoring devices do not store and record any sound, rather only measures and record dBA levels. Any monetary fine as a result of substantiated noise complaint that results in a violation from the county will be requested from the guest ONLY if I am able to provide ALL of the following: 1. Evidence of clear and advanced notice of noise restrictions to the guest detailing the explicit county requirements 2. A written notice of violation and fee amount from the county with a timestamp corresponding to the duration of a guest's stay 3. A readout from noise monitoring devices on the premises that evidence a violation in noise level at or reasonably around the timestamp provided by the county (granted it is within the duration of the guests stay) No smoking or illicit drug use: No smoking or illicit drug use of any kind is permitted on the property. Smokers should smoke on the street. Any evidence of smoking or illicit drug use will result in a charge of $50*, as the cleaning team will have to survey the property of related trash. There may be additional charges if they have to ozonate the air or resolve any further damages. Back Deck: Guests must exercise caution when on the back deck due to the high elevation. No barbecuing or similar type of fire hazard activity is permitted on the deck. Do not rearrange any furniture: Please do not rearrange any furniture aside from the ottomans and chairs, and the small tables/chairs in the back deck. Carefully manage the fireplace: If guests do not properly manage fires in the fireplace and there is evidence that smoke filled the house in the form of notable smoke damage, this may result in an additional cleaning charge*. Leave trash in designated areas: Trash bins are by the driveway and collected every Monday. Please take your inside trash, bagged up, to the bins before leaving. If bins are full, place trash bags in the garage. Animals: As we are in the mountains, you may encounter wildlife, so please exercise caution. The property has seen raccoons, squirrels, chipmunks, mice, bears, and deer. Flashlights are available at every exit point to aid visibility at night. Winter expectations: Some summer amenities, such as grills, outdoor furniture, and some outdoor spaces, may be limited/unavailable/not accessible during the winter, especially after the first snow. The property is provided with the driveway and paths to the main entrance and hot tub cleared of snow, and cleared each morning of the stay if snowfall occurs, except around cars due to liability concerns. Shovels are provided for guests to clear around their cars, but guests shovel at their own risk. Natural winter conditions may result in hazards like icicles and slippery ice along the property. Guests must exercise extreme caution when navigating the property. As the owner is making a reasonable effort to maintain the property free of winter hazards by clearing the snow when it falls, the guests assume all liability for accidents that occur despite this reasonable effort to keep the property safe in the winter. Out of bounds area: Guests are not permitted to go to the bottom of the property (accessible through the stairs to the left of the hot tub), as it is hazardous and not maintained. Guests are fully liable for any injuries suffered at or on the way to that area. Damages/extra cleaning: If the house is left in excessively dirty or damaged condition, a fee* relative to the extent of the damage/extra cleaning required will be requested. For extra cleaning, this will only be requested if it’s requested of me by the cleaning team. If you have any questions or concerns at all about the following rules, please let me know and I’ll be happy to take that feedback into account for your stay and may reflect any changes necessary per gues...

We had a great stay at the Sunset Lodge. We came there as 3 families (6 adults and 5 kids) for a long weekend ski trip at Snow valley. The location of the house was perfect, only 15 minute drive to Snow Valley. The house is extremely spacious and clean, and has everything we needed. Even a hot tub set at 90 degrees upon our arrival! The view from the house is amazing and each night we had a spectacular sunset. Arthur was always very responsive and pro-active in his communication, making our trip very smooth. I highly recommend the Sunset Lodge!
